Protopic creams and skin cancer
  
  Protopic (tacrolimus), a topical ointment used to treat eczema. Protopic was approved by the FDA in December of 2004. Protopic should be used only in areas of the skin that have eczema, and should not be allowed to normal skin.
  
  In March 2005, the FDA issued a warning signal doctors and patients about an increased risk of cancer from the use of Protopic. Nineteen cases Protopic related cancer were registered in December, 2004: Three children and 16 adults, two of whom died. Some of the victims were diagnosed with cancer within just 21 days after the start of treatment with Protopic, but the average time of diagnosis was five months.
  
  Animal studies of rats, mice and monkeys have shown the link between the use of Protopic and skin cancer, and some patients using the cream have developed the disease. Animal studies have also shown that the higher the dose of Protopic is used, the higher the rate of cancer has become.
  
  It is believed that Protopic causes skin cancer and lymphoma by suppressing the body's immune system. Protopic is also associated with leukemia, Hodgkins and non Hodgkins lymphoma cancer in children and breast cancer.
  
  The evidence began to appear that people are using Protopic are developing non Hodgkins lymphoma, squamous cell diseases, and malignant lymphomas. Back in 2000, the lymphoma was identified as a serious side effect Protopic use. In FDA Medical Examiner found with Protopic:
