Nolvadex (Tamoxifen)
Common uses
This medicine to combat estrogen used to treat or prevent breast cancer. It can also be used to treat other conditions set by the doctor.
Before using
Warning: tamoxifen can rarely cause serious (possibly fatal) side effects. These include cancer of the uterus (endometrial cancer and uterine sarcoma), as well as strokes and blood clots in the lungs (pulmonary emboli). Tell your doctor immediately if you formulation: abnormal vaginal bleeding, or violation of abnormal menstrual periods, groin pain or pressure, chest pain, trouble breathing, one-sided weakness. If you are with this medicine for the prevention of breast cancer (with ductal cancer in situ-dcis or those with a high risk of breast cancer), you should discuss with your doctor the risks of treatment, compared with the benefits. However, if you are taking tamoxifen to treat breast cancer, the proven advantages clearly higher than the risk of side effects. Consult a doctor or pharmacist for more information. Do not use this medicine if you are also taking letrozole. Additional monitoring of your dose or condition may be needed if you are taking fluorouracil, or mitomycin rifampin. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking this medicine.

Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine. This medicine may be taken on an empty stomach or with food. Store this medicine at room temperature in tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Cautions
A barrier or no hormonal form of birth control is recommended to menopausal women while taking the drug. Keep all doctor and laboratory appointments (for example, annual pelvic / gynecology examinations), but you are using this medicine. This medication has been proven harmful to the human fetus. If you are planning pregnancy, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. It is unknown if this drug is excreted in human milk. Not breast-feeding while taking the drug.
Possible side effects
Side effects that may go beyond the treatment period, outbreaks are hot, vaginal discharge, lighters or irregular menstrual cycle, weight loss or diarrhea. If they continue or bothersome, check with your doctor. Check with your doctor as soon as possible if you experience vaginal bleeding, unexplained fever or sore throat, or unusual bleeding or bruising. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse or pharmacist.
If you are too much
If overdose suspected contact with the local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include shakiness, dizziness, and irregular heartbeat.
Additional information
Do not share this medicine with others for whom it was not prescribed. Do not use this medicine for other diseases. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. When using this medication for a long period of time to get refills before your proposal will expire.
